1. Will BOSS grant exclusivity to my business for the industry I work in?
Yes and no. We do limit the number of businesses in any given industry to prevent saturation but we will not grant complete exclusivity to any one business. For example, we will not approve four real estate agents focusing in the Oakville market to become BOSS members. This does not benefit anyone. However, if we limit an industry to only one business we are taking away the variety of choice and free market that people look for when doing business. People want some options as certain people work better with others. So although numbers are limited – and we watch this very closely – we will not commit to only having one business per industry.
2. How is BOSS different than other networking groups?
The first distinction that we make is that BOSS is not another networking group. BOSS is a success system focused on improving the revenue, exposure, and expenses of each of our members. Networking is an important component of what BOSS provides as it stimulates a lot of activity and energy among members, but we provide much more than simply networking meetings. Here is what BOSS provides compared to many of the other networking organizations available.

3. Am I obligated to provide a referral fee and discount to BOSS members?
No. We cannot force you to offer a referral fee or discount to other BOSS members. But with no referral fee or discount, other members have fewer reasons to use your business or refer you business. You can only expect less positive results so we definitely recommend it.
4. How does the online referral system work exactly?
Sending a referral to another member is relatively simple, It is a two-click process within the BOSS directory. Should that referral result in business, the member that received your referral will pay their referral fee into your personal BOSS account once the business has closed– painless! Similarly, when receiving referrals, you will be notified and provided the contact information of the person being referred to you. Should business commence, after you are paid, you are expected to pay your referral fee to the member who referred that business to you – again online and securely on the BOSS website. The entire process is very simple and intended to save business owners time in sending, receiving and tracking referrals.
5. How can I be confident my banking information and referral fee payments are secure within the BOSS website?
The BOSS website is protected by a Secured Socket Layer (SSL) Certificate, which means that any information sent to the website will be encrypted and hosted securely within our sever. In addition, our website resides on a dedicated server rather than a shared one, so our server is being used exclusively for BOSS. All referral fee payments are handled by EFT Canada – an extremely reputable online banking organization that processes payments for many large organizations including BELL and Simon Fraser University. 6. If I refer a guest to BOSS, how does the BOSS referral fee work? Is it multi level marketing?
No, BOSS is not multi level marketing. We provide a referral incentive to our members to introduce their contacts to BOSS – that’s all. BOSS is built on referrals and referral fees to stimulate growth and we believe that to be consistent, we should reward our members for their referrals to us. We are only looking for businesses that share our values. That said, we know that the more of them we have, the greater the opportunities for all of our members are!
7. How can my employees access BOSS? Is there a maximum amount of employees per company that can participate?
Your employees can register themselves at the website under their BOSS member employer. When an employee registers, the business owner (or the person connected to the BOSS account) will be notified to ensure that employee belongs on their account. If there is a discrepancy (or to make changes to the employees on any BOSS account) simply contact us and we will disable that employee’s account. As far as numbers, there is no limit to the number of employees that can access BOSS through the parent company. The more people involved, the more activity within the system!
8. What if I want to cancel my membership within the first 90 days and have my membership refunded?

9. What type of approval process do businesses go through to become BOSS members?
We will look at the completed profile of every new member that joins BOSS. If we feel the business is not consistent with our values, or if that business causes too much saturation in one particular industry, we will take the necessary steps required. We reserve the right to disapprove any business that we believe will not add value to the membership overall.
10. How do we ensure a high level of quality within the membership?
In addition to our approval process, members have the opportunity to provide ratings and feedback to each other. After any referred business has been completed, your client will receive a short feedback form and rating sheet. The ratings go directly to your profile so other members can gauge the level of quality you are providing.This way, members can get a sense of the rating of other members. And remember, you always control who you do business with and when.
11. How can I benefit from BOSS if attending the meetings is difficult for me?
Even if you can’t attend meetings, you can still generate significant value from your membership. Everything we offer in terms of referral opportunities, discounts, membership exposure and resources can be accessed online. And remember, your consultants and connectors are always available to stimulate activity too!
12. How is financial management and planning integrated into BOSS?
Think of financial management and planning as an added benefit of BOSS. Each consultant (and most of our executive team) has extensive experience in the financial industry – experience that will be of significant value to any business owner with financial questions. However it is not necessary to take advantage of the wealth management aspects of BOSS to generate value from your membership. 13. How will wealth consciousness affect the profitability of my business?
Wealth consciousness is essentially a mindset of wealth and abundance and being ‘awake’ to wealth. It has been proven that the mindset of the business owner will largely determine the level of success that their business achieves. By giving business owners more opportunities to build their wealth consciousness and improve their mindset towards their business, their company will attract greater success!
14. What if I own more than one business and want to register both with BOSS?
You can register more than business with BOSS if you want. Each one will be charged a membership fee but we have special pricing for dual businesses owned by the same person:
- 2 regular memberships = $1800
- 2 premium memberships = $2500 (service provider price)
- 2 service provider memberships = $4200
15. What if my business is a partnership? Do I have to pay for 2 people?
No you only pay one membership fee per business. If you are in a partnership both partners have access to BOSS under that business.
16. What is the role of the BOSS Consultant and Community Connectors? How will they help my business?
BOSS consultants and community connectors exist to promote your business among the membership and connect you with other members that can either use your product or service or help you reduce your expenses. Their focus is to provide solutions and stimulate activity for you. They will be an extremely valuable resource for you!
17. What happens if a referral fee between members is not paid?
It is up to the two members involved to resolve the issue of referral fee payment. BOSS has a very specific code of conduct that all members are expected to follow when dealing with other members and referral fees and we expect all members to follow the guidelines outlined in the code. Should the code of conduct be breached, we reserve the right to a full investigation and will cancel any membership anytime should we deem necessary.
